    Very good recommendation! I use Nexcess as well though I have one of my client’s Magento site hosted with site5 shared hosting and it works very well there for much cheaper price. So that’s also a good option for a lot of people.

      I don’t have any experience with them – do they provide good support for Magento? Are they helpful when it comes to Magento upgrades or installations?

      Regarding performance the best is to simply compare how fast your Magento site loads with different hosts – most hosts offer a free trial period which you can use to compare performance. Here is a good tool you can use (it’s free): http://tools.pingdom.com/
