But ideas represent only a fraction of all the factors that make a business successful… My position here at Noam Design involves scoping out clients’ projects to see if they could be a good fit for our company’s skills – from website design and development, through SEO, web promotion, web marketing, and business strategy. So I am in touch with hundreds of clients who contact us every month, and for the past 2 years I have heard it all! More than once we have been contacted to create a professional Ecommerce website with only a $2000 or $3000 budget! And not to mention how many times I have been asked to sign an extensive Non Disclosure Agreement before the clients would “reveal” the nature of their “innovative” project. That project being building a new Craigslist, combined with the features of MySpace, YouTube , and eBay – with a budget of only a few thousand dollars. As you can see, such information is highly sensitive and needs to be protected by a strict NDA! Though this type of scenario is very typical, it is not always the case and there are sometimes some truly innovative ideas that are worth considering.

That’s right. Your idea can either be worth nothing or a lot – depending on how you follow through with it, if at all! Starbucks is a great example to show that you don’t need to have a patented idea to generate a very successful business. But you do need a great production team, because it’s all about how you develop your idea into a concrete venture. The main factor of success is how you develop your business: dedication, a serious attitude, a realistic investment budget, business and strategic skills, a good management team, production team, and more.
