Web Designers Resource – Free Vector Graphics

Hey Everyone,

Found some free vector graphics.  Just thought I would share!

Web Design Is All About Content

Web design is all about contentWeb designers often forget what the ultimate goal of any website or web application is: to deliver content to the user. The content can be static (like an informational website), or highly dynamic (like a chat application), in the end it always comes down to making content accessible to internet users.

Noam Design has designed hundreds and hundreds of websites and is currently working on more than 20 web design and web development projects! All this work revolves around communicating content on the internet. The only exception to this rule (kind of)  is online gaming. But this will be the topic of another blog post

As a generality, it is pretty safe to say  that a great website is a website that emphasizes the content it presents. And how the website should be designed depends on the nature of the content delivered on the website, as well as the target population, market pool, user behavior and interests, etc… There should be an intricate relationship between the content communicated to the user and the container presenting it, i.e. the website design. More often than not, a beautiful website is all about beautiful content.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Ikea to buy a bed/crib for my baby and I realized how this successful company mastered the “it’s all about content” concept. Subtle lightening, careful organization and ordering of elements, space management, etc, is what can make the simplest piece of furniture look so attractive. To a trained eye, it is obvious that their interior design experts paid attention to the smallest details. For example, they place dummy content such as fake screens on the desks – but all screens are covered with printed website screenshots! It’s all about good content. Good dummy content in this case.

I look forward to your comments and examples!

Gmail Team Develops A New Feature Based on Noam Design’s Concept

GmailAbout 5 months ago, we published a blog post containing the details of one of our innovative concepts. In the post, we took Gmail as a great example of a widely used rich internet application that could benefit from the concept.

Recently, the Gmail team implemented the idea we published almost literally with a new lab: inbox preview. The only 2 things missing are:

  1. Keep the preview open in an overlay lightbox even after the entire Gmail interface has loaded (and add a close button)
  2. Add the ability to click on a message in the inbox preview that would lead to the message (right now the inbox preview is static)

Make Money Designing Websites & Themes!

Web design moneyNoam Design is running a very popular program that lets anyone with the skills necessary to design high quality websites, sell their work and make a significant profit.

Noam Design uses the material bought through this program for an internal project (coming soon!) and NOT for any clients projects as all our web design and web development work is 100% custom made from scratch by our team.

The way the program works is that you submit a complete website or theme that is 100% ready (with dummy content). Upon review of your creation, Noam Design makes you an offer and you are free to accept or reject it. Noam Design is offering the most competitive compensation in the web design market so this is an excellent program that can generate very significant revenue! Some of the participants are making thousands of dollars a months, selling us beautiful websites. More »

Web Design On Memorial Day

Web design New York CityOn Monday, May 25, our Web Design Compay will be closed for memorial day and most of our team will enjoy the long weekend – hopefully with nice weather! Some of us however just can’t stop working…

For the past 7-8 months, I have been working intensively on a new online business called Website Temple. After a whole lot of working weekends and nights, together with our super talented team of designers and developers, we are getting closer than ever to the launch of our new venture! We will annouce the launch here so stay tuned with our web design blog.

Starting a business is hard work. There is a lot to do not only to make the business work, but to do things like register trademarks, find an accountant, hire a lawyer, choose web hosting, write a business plan and all the other nitty gritty of getting things started. So I’ll be working this weekend as usual – drop me a line in the comments to keep me company!

Web Design & Web Marketing During A Recession

Web design marketingIn such uncertain times as we’ve endured over the past year, businesses and consumers alike have been tightening their belts; economizing, trimming luxuries, and reducing to the bare minimum.

Before giving the ax to your web design and web marketing budget, consider whether it might actually cost your business more in the long-run. The fruits of long-term advertising; brand recognition, consumer confidence, etc; will begin to recede during an absence of brand communication and consumer interaction, and often takes a much longer time to rebuild. Web Design and Web Marketing

web marketingweb design company must have great in-depth knowledge of web marketing and web advertising in order to provide a complete service to its clients.

Over the past couple of years, our web design company has vastly become an online marketing agency as we’ve been providing extensive SEO and web promotion services, and developed countless succesful marketing campaign strategies. I would say that at least 50% of our ressources are allocated towards SEO services, business marketing and advertisement.

While designing a website for a business, a web design company must coordinate its web design and web development approach with the overall SEO and marketing strategy  of the company.

One of the most important aspects of marketing can be summarized with this parragraph I once read in a book:

“Our thinking machine posseses the capacity to be convinced of anything you like, provided it is repeatedly and persistently influenced in the required direction. A thing that may appear abusrd to start with will in the end become rationalized, provided it is repeated sufficiently often and with sufficient conviction. And just as one type will repeat ready-made words which have stuck in his mind, so a second type will find intricate proofs and paradoxes to explain what he says. But both are equally to be pitied.”

Ukrainian Festival This Weekend

ukrainian festivalHi Everyone!

In case any of you is interested in ethnic festivals, the Ukrainian festival is happening this weekend May 15-17, 2009 on 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Ave. I make an effort to go every year, and it’s been getting smaller and smaller as the Ukrainian immigrants leave for other neighborhoods or die form old age (the east village has steadily lost its ethnic character over the past 20 years to gentrification). I don’t see this festival continuing for another 5 years, so see it while you can!

And as a extra perk, McSorley’s is on the same street (across from the church). More »
