JavaScript Statistics are of the utmost importance for rich websites and web applications. As of today, statistics show that more than 98% of users have JavaScript. The remaining 2% represent users who turn the scripting off or use a browser that doesn’t support JavaScript (some mobile phones).
Flash Statistics are very surprising! They show that more than 80% of the users update their flash player within 6 months of the release. These statistics are the official Adobe Flash Statistics for the US and Canada:
| No Flash |
Flash Player 7 | Flash Player 8 |
Flash Player 9 |
Flash Player 9.0.115 |
| 1% | 98.7% | 98.3% | 98.1% | 90.0% |
Use Responsibly – Statistics Are Often Misleading
Global averages may not always be relevant to your web site. Different sites attract different audiences. Some web sites attract techie nerds, while other sites attract the ‘average Joe’.
Additional Important Web Statistics:
Browser Statistics – Internet Explorer Versus Firefox
Screen Resolution Statistics – extremely important to web design companies
Operating System Statistics – the windows family counts for over 90% of all operating systems
