Better Than To Be In Forbes 400 Richest List

This is the time of the year when Forbes releases the 400 Richest People in America. And if you are like me, you will start dreaming about what is like to be in that list. I know that if you are in the Internet business like me, you would love to be founder of the new google thing, the new-facebook-viral-please-buy-me-out-for-1-billion. Believe me, this is “fantasyland”. These kind of millionaires lists are terrible.

You don’t need to swing for the fences. Let me explain that your dream is not so far away and you can have your one-million salary year. That is not so distant.

Take a look at the guy from Balsamiq.com. He created a software, he charges a reasonable fee of $79,00 per download. A lot of people are interested about it and he is selling around 1000 copies per month and still growing. So, he is doing $79,000 monthly. You can do that!

My point is that if you have a web application idea and people are willing to pay you for the service, that’s all you need to get started.

Let’s say that you have 400 clients, paying you $40/month. You will have an income of $16,000 monthly. 192,000 annually is not so bad.

So, let’s think…

• what is your chance to create a product that 400 clients will pay for it?  Very likely.
• What is your chance to create the next-viral-social-twitter? Very, very tiny.
