What’s included in the new 1.3 version?

Ultimento 1.3 brings tons of new features and exiting improvements since the last 1.2 version (which was already impressive)! Here are the highlights:

Highlighted New Features:

Ultimento 1.3 now comes with a brand new Magento Discussion Extension!! Best of all, we decided to release the Discussion Module for FREE to all Ultimento customers . This truly awesome Magento extension will further enhance your store’s SEO with user generated content on your product pages and will start the discussion between you and your customers. Visitors can comment on a product or ask a question and you can easily respond directly from your Magento admin. All comments go through moderation and emails are sent automatically. Future visitors can benefit from the discussion and go through past comments and replies – enhancing trust and increasing conversions from the product page. It’s really a great and unique extension – a must for any store serious about SEO and conversions.

Ultimento 1.3 also fully leverages the new changes in the latest Magento 1.5 and 1.5.0.1 that were released a few days ago and is 100% compatible with these versions of Magento CE!

Highlighted Improvements:

We’ve redesigned the tabs on the product pages. It was the one and only detail that I felt wasn’t 100% top-of-the-line in Ultimento’s design so we decided to redo them. As always we implemented the best design practices for speed and SEO while taking into account all browsers (yes, even the old ones). The tabs now feature rounded corners and a subtle design. After running some tests on live stores we saw very nice improvements in conversion rates with the new design! We’re really happy with the results.

Highlighted Fixes:

During our ongoing work on Ultimento, we continuously “tighten” the code and look for any possible ways to improve overall performance. We’re mainly obsessed with speed, SEO, and conversions. But we’re also dedicated to cross browser compatibility and a lot of time is spend dealing with the variety of browsers and operating systems that exist out there. The smallest details matter to us because they matter for conversions. As an example, there was a small design flaw in Ultimento 1.2 that has now been fixed: the JavaScript message that displays when you enter an email that is not properly formatted in the newsletter subscribe field distorted the design at the very bottom of the page on some browsers. It’s now fixed.

Many other tiny details were fixed in this release but there’s 2 other things I’d like to highlight here: one is that we’ve also fixed the couple of words that didn’t get automatically translated when installing a language pack; and the other is that we’ve improved the stability of the 1-click auto-installer as well as of the “uninstall” feature.

How do I get my copy of Ultimento 1.3?

If you’re an Ultimento customer (Standard, Plus, or Max), you get this update for free! If you purchased Ultimento anytime in 2011 then all you have to do is re-download the files from your account center. If you purchased it in 2010 please get in touch and we’ll send you the new version.
